Julius Clyde Grimsley June 17, 1927- Sunday, October 18, 2015 Columbus, Georgia- Rev. Julius C. Grimsley, 88 of Columbus, Georgia formerly of Ellaville, Georgia died Sunday, October 18, 2015 at his home. Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, October 20, 2015 at 11:00 AM EST at Colonial Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Clyde Grimsley officiating. Interment will follow at 2:00 PM EST at Bethel Church Cemetery, Butler, Georgia. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 6-8 PM at the funeral Home. Mr. Grimsley was born June 17, 1927 in Marion County, Georgia the son of the late William Thomas Grimsley and Henrietta Golden Grimsley. He was a U.S. Army veteran of The Korean Conflict, retired from Columbus Consolidated Government as the automotive superintendent, then worked for several years as road superintendent for Schley County, was a retired pastor in the Freewill Baptist Association, and was a member of New Liberty Baptist Church. Surviving is his wife of 59 years, Mary Annette Grimsley daughter, Mary Nell Scarbrough and husband Sam of Columbus, Georgia son, Chris Grimsley and wife Cindy of Midland, Georgia 4 grandchildren, Jared Scarbrough, Lacey Grimsley, Carson Grimsley, and Kayla Scarbrough.
