Mr. Roger Guthrie, 78, of Box Springs, GA, passed away Thursday, May 7, 2015, at 
Midtown Medical Center in Columbus, GA.

A graveside funeral service will be held at 11:00am on Tuesday, May 12, 2015, at 
Geneva City Cemetery with Rev. A. R. Curlee and Rev. Lynn McManious officiating.  
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday evening, May 11, 
2015, from 6:00-8:00pm.

Mr. Guthrie was born February 1, 1937, in Ohio, to William Donald and Northa 
Fudge Guthrie. A veteran of the U. S. Army, he retired from Booth Plumbing as a 
pipefitter. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather and loved spending 
time with his family.  He enjoyed cutting grass, hunting, fishing and the 
outdoors.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother.

He is survived by his wife Brenda Dent Guthrie of Box Springs, GA; a son, Tyler 
and Gwendolyn Bassett of Talbotton, GA; a daughter, Diane and Doug Love of 
Columbus, GA; five brothers, one sister, two grandchildren, Jonathan Love and 
Josh Bassett and one great-grandchild, Baylee Burdwell. Several nieces and 
nephews also survive.

Watson-Tante Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
