Guy Dead Mr. W.J. Guy died at his home near Brantley last Saturday after an illness of four or five days with blood poisoning. His remains were laid to rest at Brantley Sunday afternoon, Rev. R.L. Wiggins performing the burial services. On last Friday a week ago Mr. Guy had the misfortune to mash a finger, but he thought nothing seriously of it and was in town Monday before his death. Monday afternoon after he returned home he went to the pasture for the cows and fell down several times from weakness before he reached the house. Tuesday morning he got up but had to take his bed a little later and send for a physician. Blood poison set in and his hand and arm were soon in an awful condition, which finally resulted in his death at the time stated. Mr. Guy was a good man and a good citizen. He leaves a wife and several children to mourn his death, to whom the Patriot extends sympathy.
