It is a lengthy memorial, below are some excerpts: In Memoriam J.H. Hogg Brother Hogg was born in Talbot County May 12th, 1844, and sweetly fell asleep August the 20th, 1902. He first saw Masonic Light and was passed to the degree of Fellow Craft and was raised to the sublime degree of Master Mason. To say that Brother Hogg was a perfect man would be saying too much for perfection has never been attained in this life. But judging from the deep impulses that actuated his life and noble thoughts that thrilled his immortal nature, we believe that the great aim and object of his life was to live right and at last get home to Heaven. Brother Hogg’s life was not exempt from the trials, troubles and afflictions incidental to human experience. But amid the trying ordeal and darkest hours, he bore himself with the Christian resignation and Masonic fortitude which should characterize everyone who has entered into the Sanctum Sanctorum of Masonry. As a member of the Craft he was a zealous and enthusiastic worker, ready and willing to perform any labor required or duty and trust reposed. He was punctual in attending the communications of the Lodge and his bright smiling face and cheering words gladdened the heart and scattered rays of sunshine to all around. Written by J.A.
