Death of Mrs. J.M. Hall

Mrs. John M. Hall is dead.  It is sad to chronicle the coming of the angel of 
death when its visitations are paid to those who ripe with age “sit and listen, 
unmoved, for the phantom oar of the boatman pale, who ferries souls across the 
stygian flood,” but when it comes with a seeming ruthless and merciless hand 
and snatches the fair young wife and friend it is doubly sad.

A little more than a year ago Miss Carrie Buchanan the eldest and charming 
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. F.H. Buchanan was led to the altar a beautiful, tender 
and blushing bride of eighteen years, and there solemnly and firmly she 
plighted her troth and right well has she kept it.  Always with a sweet, 
pleasant smile on her beautiful young face, she carried sunshine and happiness 
into her home and to her friends, and not that she is no more, we must be 
consoled by the fact that the good die young.

Last Thursday morning at 7:00 o’clock, after an illness of several weeks and 
while surrounded by her devoted husband and others that loved her, death came 
to cease the suffering and free her spirit for its heavenly flight.

To her devoted and promising young husband we offer heartfelt sympathy and 
trust that in this, the hour of his grief, his fortitude may be equal to his 
suffering.

Her remains will be interred at the Methodist cemetery at 8:30 o’clock this 
morning.  The burial services will be conducted by Rev. C.H. Branch.
