Hamner nee Miss Lillian McMichael, was brought home a corpse last Saturday afternoon from Atilla, Ala. Her death occurred at the home of her husband in that place Friday, after an illness extending over several weeks. At the time of her death her mother, Mrs. J.R. McMichael, and Mrs. J.E. Lowe, a sister, were with her, and all that the tenderest love or the best medical skill could do was done for her, but final summons had come, and she is at rest. The body was accompanied to Buena Vista by Mr. Hamner, Mesdames McMichael and Lowe. They were met at the depot by a number of friends and the body was carried to Mrs. McMichael’s home, where it rested until Sunday afternoon, when it was followed to the church by a large concourse of friends who listened to the funeral service conducted by Rev. W.D. McGregor, and afterwards saw the service completed over the grave of the deceased. Mrs. Hamner leaves a husband and a little girl, about three years old, a mother and several brothers and sisters, who deeply mourn her death.
