Icard February 19, 1932 ~ August 13, 2016 Mr. Bobby R. Icard, 84, passed away surrounded by his family on Saturday, August 13, 2016. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, August 16, 2016 at 2:00 PM at Tazewell Baptist Church with Rev. David Chapman and Rev. Mike Truitt officiating. Burial will follow in Tazewell City Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Allen Chapman, Eddie Icard, Duffy Maddocks, Wayne Ray, Terry Whaley and Tony Whitley. Honorary pallbearers will be Wesley McAllister, Don Cook, Larry Sims, Vance Streeter and Wayne Malphrus. Visitation will be held at Watson-Tante Funeral Home on Monday, August 15, 2016 from 6:00 – 8:00 PM. Mr. Icard was born February 19, 1932 to the late Lester Icard and Ora Eckard Icard in Marion County, GA. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. Mr. Icard was a member and deacon of Tazewell Baptist Church. He enjoyed gospel music, fishing and gardening. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and he will be missed dearly. Mr. Icard was preceded in death by a son, Jeter Bob Icard, by three brothers, Uylus Icard, LJ Icard, Glenn Bernard Icard and four sisters, Pauline Harbuck, Martha Johnson, Phyllis Smith and Betty Jean Craig. Survivors include his wife, Jeanette Icard of Buena Vista; a son, Ward Icard and his wife, Loris of Macon, GA; a daughter, Gennie Gartland and Allen Gaskill of Buena Vista; a brother, Jimmy Icard and his wife of Nell of Bonaire, GA; a sister, Mary Harbuck of Americus, GA; three grandchildren, Kalen and his wife, Ashley, Kory Icard and Kody Icard; two great-grandchildren, Dalton Icard and Olivia Icard; and numerous nieces and nephews.
