James Jefferson, age 82 of 315 Rogers Street, Buena Vista, GA passed away 
October 3, 2005.
 Funeral Services will be conducted at 1PM  on Saturday, Oct. 8, 2005 at Mt. 
Carmel Baptist Church off Ebenezer Road in Buena Vista. Interment will follow 
in church cemetery.

Mr. Jefferson was born in Marion Co, Ga on March 24, 1923 to the late Coleman 
Minter and Mattie Jackson
Mr. Jefferson married Irene Griffin and they had 8 children.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Irene Griffin Jefferson, and four 
children: Patricia Jefferson,James Clifford  Griffin, Elaine Jefferson Hubbard 
and Patricia Williams. He is also preceded in death by seven siblings:  Ella 
Scott, Gladys Pless, Maholia Cunnington,Annie Thomas, Martha Cottle,George 
Kings and Mollie Thornton.
Survivors include: Children, Ruby Jean Griffin Wilson of Waycross, GA, Robert 
Griffin of Lithonia, GA. Gladys Holloman-Young {Melvin} and E.J.Jefferson both 
of Forest Park, GA., Stanley Jefferson {Barbara} of Kansas City, MO., Alice 
Williams,Kathy Williams,Minerva Leonard and Michael Williams all of Miami, 
Fl.,Pearlene Cottle of Daytona Beach, FL.,Curtis Blue of Buena Vista, GA; 42 
grandchildren, 48 great grandchildren,Two great great grandchildren.
Siblings: Jannie McMurray and Ella Mae Porter{ Jimmy} both of Buena Vista, GA. 
Green Colbert and Elizabeth Terry both of Melbourne, Fl. and a host of beloved 
nieces, nephews, other friends and relatives.

Oglethorpe Funeral Chapel Inc. of Oglethorpe, GA. is in charge of arrangements.
