She was born in New Smyrna Beach, Florida, on December 28, 1926, the daughter of the late David Warren and Mary Evans Warren. Ms. Lane was a lifetime resident of Gainesville, FL. She spent the past seven years in Marion County, Georgia, in the loving care of her late son, John Warren, her daughter, Linda Phillips, her great grandson, Jeremy (Lil Jimmy) Welch and longtime friend, Rick (Mr. James) Salina. She was a member of Fort Perry Baptist Church and had many friends in the Buena Vista area. She was known as Granny Annie. In addition, Ms. Lane is survived by one other daughter, Rebecca Phillips of Cocoa Beach, FL; granddaughters, Michelle Demske of Jacksonville, FL, Shannon Welch of Columbus, GA, and Shanon Braza of Texarkana, TX; and grandsons, Adrian Vaguer of Cocoa Beach, FL, Christopher and Timothy Smith serving in the United States Army. In addition, she has twelve great-grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter. A special niece Sharon Townsend of Gainesville, FL, and nephews Carl and Joey Johnson of Lake Wales, FL also survives. She was preceded in death by her husband, Curtis Lane, two sons, Curtis Lane, Jr. and John Warren, one daughter, Mary Lane Smith. A loving sister, Louise Johnson and brother, Julius Warren also preceded her in death. Ms. Lane was a loving homemaker who devoted her life to her family and friends. She enjoyed gardening, fishing, music, dancing and most of all her church. A memorial service will be held at Fort Perry Baptist Church at a date to be announced. A graveside service will be held in Gainesville, FL, at Evergreen Cemetery, at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, April 9, 2013, with Reverend Danny Williams officiating.
