Funeral services will be held at 11:00AM on Saturday, April 17, 2021, at Oakland Church of God. Burial will follow the service in the church cemetery. The family will greet friends at the church one hour prior to the service beginning at 10:00AM. Due to Covid-19, face coverings are encouraged and please practice social distancing. Mrs. Lane was born September 9, 1935, to Dewey and Charlie Ree Scott Barrett. Before her retirement, she worked at Spilene and Manhattan Shirt Factory as well as several retail stores in Buena Vista. Mrs. Lane loved cooking and spending time with her family. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Garnett R. Lane, by a son, Eddie Lane, by three brothers, James, D. C., and Homer and by her sister, Ruby. She is survived by a son, David Lane of Buena Vista, GA; two daughters and sons- in-law, Donna and Ricky Maxwell of Buena Vista, GA, and Pam and Jimmy Erwin of Prairie Grove, AR; two sisters, Freddie Mae Culpepper (Jimmy) and Faye Lane, all of Buena Vista, GA; nine grandchildren, Tiffany Bullard, Leah Rowland, Josh Maxwell, Justin Maxwell, James Erwin, Jessica Erwin, Brooke Lane, Colton Lane (Codi), and Emma Lane, 10 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive. Way-Watson Funeral Home, 1052 Dr. Deryl Hart Road, Buena Vista, Georgia has been entrusted with these arrangements.
