Betty Mae Lee October 31, 1938- February 25, 2007 COLUMBUS, GA— Betty Mae Lee, 
68, of Columbus, GA. died Sunday, February 25, 2007 at her home. Graveside 
funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, March 1, 2007 in Parkhill 
Cemetery, according to Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, Columbus. The family will 
receive friends Thursday morning from 10 a.m. until 12 noon at the funeral 
home. Mrs. Lee was born in Buena Vista, GA. on October 31, 1938, daughter of 
the late Ernest C. Welch Sr. and Hassie McLaughlin Welch. She has lived in 
Columbus for most of her life and was a member of Linwood Baptist Church. 
Survivors include her three sons, David E. Hand of Columbus, Ricky Hand and his 
wife Mattie of Phenix City, AL. and Timmy Hand of Columbus; two brothers, 
Talmadge Welch and his wife Dorothy of Richland, GA., and Bernie Welch of 
Columbus; five grandchildren and one great grandchild.
