TAZWELL,GA. Hettie Ruth Martin,longtime resident of Tazwell died Thursday,March 
17 at St.Francis Hospital in Columbus, She was 97 years old.
She was married to the late Julius P. Martin.
Mrs. Martin was the oldest daughter of Jesse W and Julia Mae Smith. She is 
Survived by two sons,Ronald K.Martin and wife Jan of Vero Beach,Fl. and Wayne 
T.Martin and wife Virginia of Forsyth,Ga. Two sisters, Frances Hicks and Helen 
Welch,both of Marion Co Ga.; Four grandchildren,Ginny Lee Lofton of Oveido,Fl. 
Brian Martin and wife Pam of Atlanta,GA.,Leslie Garcia and Husband Tony of 
Jacksonville,Fl. and Eric Martin of Vero Beach. Five great grandchildren and 
numerous nephews and nieces.
Graveside Funeral services  will be 2 P.M.Sunday, March 20 at Tazwell 
Cemetery.Visitation will be Saturday from 6 to 8 P M at the Funeral Home.
 Tante Funeral Home of Buena Vista is in charge of arrangements 

 

Additional Comments:
Mr and Mrs Martin operated a family Style Restaurant in Buena Vista for several 
years.
Mrs Martin also taught school for a number of years in the area after 
graduating from Georgia Southwestern Collage.
Mr and Mrs Martin also lived many years in Lake Wales, Fl. Before returning to 
Marion Co. to live. 

Funeral home provided birth date  March 02, 1908 .
