Watson-Tante Funeral Home Buena Vista GA   August 20 2013


Frances Greene McAllister, 95, of Buena Vista, GA, died Sunday, August 18, 
2013, at Magnolia Manor of Marion County.
 
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, August 20, 2013, at 4:00pm at New 
Providence Baptist Church with Reverend David Chapman officiating. Burial will 
follow the service in Buena Vista Cemetery.  Serving as pallbearers will be 
David Mincey, Seth McAllister, Skyler McAllister, Charley Whipkey, Frankie 
McAllister, Keith McAllister, Kenneth McAllister and Julius McAllister. The 
family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, August 19, 2013, 
from 6-8 PM.
 
Ms. McAllister was born October 17, 1917, in Marion County, GA, to Dave 
Boyette and Eldora Johnson Greene. A lifelong resident of Marion County, she 
was Baptist by faith and a member of New Providence Baptist Church. She was 
employed as a Nurse’s Aid at Marion Memorial Hospital when it first opened.  
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death  by her husband, Jack 
McAllister, by a daughter, Fay McAllister Jones, by a brother, Jack Greene, 
and three sisters, Sara Stockdale, Ruth McCrary, and Bernice Plyler.
 
She is survived by two sons, Donald “Pete” and Lynn McAllister and Tommy and 
Sherry McAllister all of Buena Vista, GA; by a daughter, Joy and Jake Riser of 
Bowman, SC; by eight grandchildren Cindy Williams, David Mincey, Allister 
Whipkey, Melissa McAllister, Seth McAllister, Sunni McAllister, Skyler 
McAllister, and Tracy Judy.
 
Flowers are accepted or memorials may be made to New Providence Baptist Church 
Building Fund.
 
Watson-Tante Funeral Home of Buena Vista, Georgia, was in charge of these 
arrangements.
