Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 9, at 2 p.m. at Spring Hill Freewill Baptist Church in Mauk, Georgia. The family will receive friends at the church Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. Mr. McCall was born January 31, 1932 in Phenix City, Alabama to Allen Sanders and Mary Lee McCall. He was preceded in death by his parents, son Greg McCall and a sister Dalice Duncan. He served honorably in the United States Army during the Korean War. He had lived in Marion County for most of his life except for 13 years he and his wife lived in Columbus. He retired after 31 years as a heavy equipment mechanic for the Columbus Consolidated Government. He was Baptist by faith and attended Spring Hill Freewill Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Bernice McCall; two daughters Angie McCall Peavy and husband Mike of Monroe, Georgia and Laura McCall Koonce of Mauk, Georgia; a sister Mary Alice Waters of Buena Vista; six grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Tante Funeral Home of Buena Vista is in charge of arrangements.
