BUENA VISTA, GA --- Mrs. Agnes Weed Powell McCorkle, 85, of Buena Vista, GA, passed

away Monday, November 23, 2015, at Phoebe-Sumter Medical Center in Americus, GA.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, November 28, 2015, at Union 
United Methodist Church with Reverend David Chapman and Reverend Bill Harris 
officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will

be Chandler Jones, Jeff Wilks, Matthew Weed, Gary Powell, Joshua Powell, and Stephen

Barnes. The family will greet friends at the funeral home on Friday, November 27, 
2015, from 6-8pm.

Mrs. McCorkle was born January 17, 1930, in Chattahoochee County to Aubrey Graden 
and Samantha Morgan Weed. Methodist by faith, she was a member of Union United 
Methodist Church. She attended Perry Business College and was employed with Marion 
County as a bookkeeper for over 40 years. She was involved in the Booster Club and 
enjoyed hummingbirds, flowers and her greenhouse. In addition to her parents, she 
was preceded in death by her first husband, Hubert Powell and her second husband, 
Robert E. “Jie” McCorkle.

She is survived by two daughters and a son-in-law, Gayle Webb and Vicki and Roger 
Bell, all of Buena Vista, GA; by a brother and sister-in-law, Drew and Mary Weed of

Box Springs, GA; three grandchildren, Heath Bell, Candice Bell Jones, and Carmen 
Webb Holloway and six great-grandchildren, Ryan Lindsey, Austin Bell, Amber Jones, 
Chandler Jones, Jaden Holloway, and Philip Holloway.

Watson-Tante Funeral Home of Buena Vista, Georgia, is in charge of these 
arrangements.
