Miss Annie Clifford McCorkle died Sept. 23rd at 10:30 a.m. after a brief 
illness of typhoid fever.  She was born Sept. 28th, 1888 and at death just 
lacked three days being 19 years old.  The sorrow stricken family have the 
sympathy of all the community.

In Memory of Clifford

Clifford McCorkle was born Sept. 28, 1888 and departed this life Sept. 23, 
1907, making her stay on earth 18 years, 11 months and 25 days.

She was the oldest child of George McCorkle and was dearly loved by all who 
knew her.

She leaves a father, step-mother, five sisters, four brothers and a host of 
relatives and friends to mourn their loss.

We would say to the sorrow strickened family, weep not for your dear one, for 
she is only sleeping, and our loss is her eternal gain.

She was too good, too gentle, and fair,
To dwell in this cold world of care.
No pain, no grief, no anxious fear,
Can reach our loved one sleeping there.

Sleep on, dear one,
And take thy rest;
God called thee home,
He thought it best;
Though grief it gives,
Tis much the best
To say “Thy will be done.”
