A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00AM on Thursday, May 24, 2018, in the Chapel of Watson-Tante Funeral Home with Rev. Robbie Pilcher officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service beginning at 10:00AM. Mr. Meek was born October 31, 1935 in Houston, TX to the late William Claborn Meek, Sr. and Bonnie Smith Meek. Bill graduated from Louisiana State University in 1958, and would forever stay an LSU football fan. Upon graduation, he served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was retired from Isotec International as a chemical engineer. Bill had a knack for making close friends anywhere he went, his customers discovered. He loved being outdoors working in his garden and enjoyed fishing. He was a member of Cornerstone Church. Mr. Meek was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Amelia Pilcher. Survivors include his wife, Helena Williams Meek of Buena Vista, GA; two sons, William Claborn Meek, III and his wife, Susan of Jefferson, GA and Charles Sheppard Meek and his wife, Sara of Jacksonville, AL; a daughter, Harriet Meek Pilcher and her husband, Robbie of Buena Vista, GA; a sister, Pat Terrell of Texas; ten grandchildren, Brittany Motes (Josh), Will Meek (Kayla), Caleb Meek (Wendy), Rachel Meek, Savannah Meek, Lee Pilcher (Katie), Logan Pilcher, Glenn Pilcher, Gage Pilcher and Hallie Pilcher; five great-grandchildren, Carson, Levi, Connell, Caroline and Ransom; and several nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to Cornerstone Church at Marion, 245 Southland Road, Americus, GA 31709.
