Tante Funeral Home  December 2008
Lila Mae Melton, 89, of Buena Vista, Georgia, died Friday, December 19, 2008, 
at Magnolia Manor of Marion County.

Funeral services were held Sunday, December 21, 2008, at 3:00 PM at New 
Providence Baptist Church with Rev. David Chapman and Rev. David Ellis 
officiating.  Burial followed in New Providence Church Cemetery.  The family 
received friends at the funeral home Saturday evening.

Ms. Melton was born August 13, 1919, in Chattahoochee County, Georgia, to John 
Frank and Mattie Mae Revels Melton. She worked at Wipo and Tom Houston in 
Columbus.  She had a love for animals, especially her cats, and she loved her 
family. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three 
brothers, Clarence Melton, Clyde Melton, and Frank Melton, and by two sisters, 
Fannie Rigsby and Ruth Holland. 

Survivors include her sister, Willie Rigsby, of Columbus, Georgia and several 
nieces and nephews

Tante Funeral Home of Buena Vista, Georgia was in charge of arrangements..
