Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 5, 2008, at 3:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Buena Vista. Music will be provided by Mark Taylor and Judy Wells. Interment will follow immediately in the Buena Vista City Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the home of granddaughter, Luanne Long. Mrs. Moss was born April 20, 1916 in Sumter County, GA to James Albert and Annie Lee Jennings McGarrah. After the death of her parents, she was raised by Rufus and Jessie McGee from Plains, GA. Coming from Lakeland, GA, Mrs. Moss had lived in Buena Vista for the past 61 years. She was Baptist by faith and a devoted member of First Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday school for over 50 years and sang in the choir. She was also a past president of the Missionary Society. An elementary school teacher for 43 years in the Marion County school system as well as in the town of Leslie, GA, she touched the lives of many young people. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lucius King Moss, as well as a sister, Louise McGarrah Smith, and two brothers, James McGarrah and Leonard McGarrah. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Susanne Moss and Herman Long; two grandchildren, Luanne Long and Kyle and Kim Long; and two great-grand children, Shelby Long and Luke Long, all of Buena Vista. Also surviving are neices and nephews: Jan and Richard Greene of Knoxville, TN; Pat and Lee Rush of Cochran, GA; Allene Barnes of Gray, GA; Sam McGarrah of Macon, GA; and Cliff and Carla Smith of Pinellas Park, FL. Her devoted caregivers, Joyce Blakely, Lisa Thornton, and Rose Mathis also survive. Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions can be made to First Baptist Church, P.O.
