A. Murray Beloved Phhysician amd Prominent Marion County Citizen Dies at His Home in Tazewell Thursday Night Last Week The death of no man, perhaps, could bring to the town of Tazewell, in Marion County, and neighboring towns and communities more geniuine sorrow than taht of Dr. Stephens A. Murray, which came unexpectedly at his home at Tazewell about 2 o'clock Friday morning, December 2nd, his death being due to heart failure. He retired in his usual health Thursday night, it is said, but shortly after midnight his wife was awakened by his struggles, and before medical aid could be secured life was extinct. Born and reared in Schley county, Dr. Murray moved to Tazewell soon after graduating in medicine to begin the practice of his profession. He soon built up a large practice in neighboring communities, and made many warm friends who clung to him through life. He was full of energy and possessed ability of a high order. In early young manhood, Dr. Murray wooed and won the heart and hand of Miss Ollie Edwards, daughter of Dr. and Mrs. M. R. Edwards of Tazewell, and one of Marion county's most charming young women, and who survives him. Dr. W. W. Edwards and Dr. J. W. Edwards of Butler are his brothers-in-law. No brothers were ever more devoted to each other than these. The tie that bound them was very close, and in the passing of Dr. Murray, they have the sympathy of the people of this community as does his devoted wife, who geels her loneliness most keenly. Mr. Murray was 71 years of age. His character was marked by sterling integrity, honesty, faithfulness in duty to his chosen profession and high moral conduct. He enjoyed the confience and esteem of his associates and all with whom he had dealings. Probably no citizen of Marion and adjoining counties had a larger circle of friends. Mr. Murray gave hi ssupport to numerous enterprises, and at all times was a staunch supporter of the things he believed to be right. He was especially active in his church amd fraternal connections. He was a member of the Mrthodist church and of K. of P. Lodge. In both he displayed traits of character that many might well emulate.
