Funeral services will be held at 1:00PM on Saturday, April 5, 2014, at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church with Reverend Kenny Gouch, Reverend Emmett Murray, and Reverend Angienette Coffer Damiani officiating. Burial will follow the service at Buena Vista Cemetery. Mr. Murray was born December 28, 1933, in Marion County, GA, to Lonnie Murray, Sr. and Nettie Minter Murray. He was employed by Tom’s Food in the Peanut Department. He was a member of Bethel AME Church and enjoyed gardening and raising hogs. He was preceded in death by his father, Lonnie Murray, Sr., by his oldest daughter, Rosemary Murray, by four brothers, Henry Murray, John Murray, Lonnie Murray, Jr., and Nathaniel Murray and by his sister, Dorothy Williams. He is survived by his mother, Mrs. Nettie Murray; by his wife of 57 years, Vera Murray, both of Buena Vista, GA; 3 children, Sylvia Elaine and Eddie Bryant of Ft. Mitchell, AL, Nettie and John Stephenson of Tazewell, GA, and Richard Murray, Jr. of Buena Vista, GA; his sister and brothers, Mabel and Ernest Johnson of Cleveland, OH, David and Retha Murray of Cleveland, OH, Hudson and Catherine Murray of Buena Vista, GA, Willie and Velma Murray of Atlanta, GA, and Otis and Fannie Murray of Buena Vista, GA, and Ricky and Elizabeth Murray of Atlanta, GA; Special cousins, Walter Sales and Teddy Hamilton; Nine Grandchildren, Derrick, Maurice, Tanika, Cedric, Marcus, Tekela, Stevie, Kristina, and Tiffany, and 11 Great-Grandchildren. His Sisters- in Law, Fannie Pearl Germany, Louise and Eddie Baisden, and Dorothy and James Thornton, and Brothers-in-Law, Cleve and Annie Pearl Hamilton, and Nathaniel Hamilton also survive.
