Rev. W.B. Merritt Dead

Rev. W.B. Merritt died very suddenly at his home near Draneville last Saturday 
morning at an early hour of some from of heart trouble.

He was one of the most prominent citizens in the county, kind and considerate 
in all things, and his many good qualities were admired by all his 
acquaintances.  He was one of the most learned men in this section, having 
graduated with high honors in the class with L.Q.C. Lamar.  He was above all 
things a true Christian and a better man never lived in the county.  His good 
council will be much missed by is friends and acquaintances.
