Negro Found Dead

Pete Murray, colored, one of the section hands down at Elmview, was found dead 
near the railroad Monday morning about a mile below town.  He was in town on 
Thursday afternoon of last week and filled up on whisky, as was usually the 
case, and he managed to get that far on his way home.  He no doubt lay down to 
sleep off his drunk and the cold rain Thursday night caught him in that 
condition and he evidently died from the exposure superinduced by too much 
whisky.
