In Memoriam

William Wooten Miller, infant of B.S. and Bessie Wooten Miller, grandson of 
Mrs. A.P. Wooten was born June 5th 6 a.m. and died June 8th 2 p.m.

Only three brief days did God spare little William to gladden loving hearts and 
enrich them by his presence.

The tiny babe, perfect in form and feature, was the revelation to the mother of 
a wonderful love, Christ like in that it was born in anguish and hath no bounds.

Around the innocent babe clustered the fondest hopes of father and mother; 
grandmothers bent reverently to note if in the features some lineaments of the 
loved and lost might be traced.  In the home every heart was filled with joy 
that a new life was given to brighten the coming years with the merry prattle 
of innocent childhood.

O Life what art thou?  God –given but a shadow on the scroll of time.  Even if 
thou lingerest three score years and ten, some are days of joy, some of sorrow –
 and we are not.

The joy was intense, and with the dear ones will linger the sweet memory of a 
helpless infant, sleeping on a young mother’s breast which thrilled with love 
as she pressed the velvety fingers and stroked the downy cheek.  A memory that 
will fill her life with the aroma of love, and down the path of time remain 
engraved in the halls of he past ‘till the Masters’ will is done and to her 
revealed why human skill availed not and her child was transformed hence forth 
minister to the weary worn of earth, guard them till they are safe beyond the 
stream where she has no child, but an angel in heaven.
