Columbus, GA – Luther Lenard Nelson, Jr., 76, of Columbus, Georgia, died 
Sunday, May 16, 2010, at the Medical Center in Columbus.

A private graveside service was held on Monday, May 17, 2010, at 4:00PM, at 
Ramah Cemetery in Buena Vista, Georgia, with Reverend Kenneth McAllister 
officiating.

Mr. Nelson was born May 15, 1934, in Ft. Benning, Georgia, to Luther L. 
Nelson, Sr. and Bessie Mae Screws Nelson. He was preceded in death by his 
parents.

He is survived by his wife, Sue McAllister Nelson of Columbus, Georgia; by a 
son, Peter Michael and Karla Nelson of LaGrange, Georgia; and by a brother, 
Eugene and Linda Nelson of Hattiesburg, Mississippi. Two grandchildren, 
Jessica Nelson and Jonathan Nelson, both of LaGrange, Georgia, also survive.

Memorial donations may be made to Columbus Hospice, 7020 Moon Road, Columbus, 
Georgia, 31909.  Tante Funeral Home of Buena Vista, Georgia was in charge of
