Peacock Dead Mrs. M.C. Peacock, mother of Mr. R.H. Peacock, died at the home of her son in Columbus last Sunday and her remains, accompanied by Mr. R.H. Peacock and Col. A.A. Carson, were brought to Buena Vista Monday for burial. Dr. W.L. Cruggs, pastor of St. Luke church, came over with the remains and conducted the funeral services. He preached a very able sermon on this occasion. Mrs. Peacock had been a sufferer with cancer for several years which was the cause of her death. She was about sixty years old and a consistent member of the Methodist church. She was the sister of the late Dr. McMichael, Mr. W.A. McMichael and Mrs. M. Hair who have preceded her in death, and there are only two others of the family of children living, Mrs. Jolly of Dawson and Mrs. Hicks of Reynolds. Mrs. Peacock formerly lived here and she has many relatives in this section to lament her death. The Marion County Patriot, No. 24 June 14, 1901 Page Three Personal Mention Mr. and Mrs. W.R.
