Persons, died Wednesday after a long spell of fever. The deceased was just budding into womanhood and her death is particularly sad. She was a sweet and lovable girl, beautiful in face and more beautiful in character and her death fills the hearts of all who knew her with sorrow. She is at rest, and her pure soul, clothed in the beautiful garments of light rejoices in the personal knowledge of a loving Savior. The Marion County Patriot, No. 26 June 26, 1903 Page Eight Doyle The people of Doyle are very sad over the death of their beloved teacher, Miss Minnie Persons. The Marion County Patriot, No. 27 July 3, 1903 Page Eight Doyle Items On the seventeenth day of June the spirit of Minnie Persons took its heavenly flight and our first thought was why one so young, so useful and so good should be taken from us, but we know that our loss is her gain and though her presence is denied us, her influence will last forever leading us on the better work, nobler aspirations and truer living. In early childhood she gave her heart to God and since that time she has led a beautiful Christian life, at all times doing so willingly any work for her master, that her hands found to do. Some of her best work was done in the Epworth League and Sunday school and by her death we have lost one of our most earnest workers and loyal members. Though taken in the bloom of young womanhood, her mission had been fulfilled and, God in his wisdom has recalled, The boom his love had given, And though the body moulders here, The soul is safe in heaven.
