Death Near Pine Knot Spring

R.F.D.2 May 5 – Mr. Dan Pope, a prominent citizen of Marion County, died Friday 
morning about 8:30 o’clock.  His death was very sudden, he having been sick 
only a few minutes.  The remains were interred in the Mount Zion cemetery, Rev. 
Allison conducting the funeral services.  He leaves four children to mourn 
their loss.

Pine Knot

Mr. Dan Pope, aged 75 years, died at his home Friday, May 4th.  Mr. Pope had 
been quite feeble for some time, but was not considered serious.  He had been 
out around the house chopping weeds and went in the house and lay down and died 
quite suddenly.  He is survived by his wife and four children.
