Services were held at 2:00 PM on Monday, February 13, 2012, at Brantley United Methodist Church in Buena Vista, GA, with burial to follow in the Church Cemetery. Reverend Hugh Deloach officiated. Ms. Parker was born December 10, 1915, in Buena Vista, GA, the daughter of the late William Reese (Billy) Parker and Pearl Highnote Parker. She was a school teacher and had taught in Dougherty County, Muscogee County, Private Schools, Georgia Southwestern College, and numerous other school systems. She enjoyed traveling and traveled all over the world, playing piano, and was a member of East Highland United Methodist Church in Columbus, GA. Survivors include nieces and nephews, Bill and Susan Parker, Betsy and Beacham Wray, Wayne and Leslie Parker, Harry and Shirley Cook, Sally and Bob Hilton, Dan Smith, Jim and Ladelle Smith and many great nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Ms. Parker was preceded in death by her brother, William Ralph Parker and wife, Mary Duttera Parker, sister, Note Parker Cook and husband, Gaston B. Cook, and a sister Ruby Mae Parker Smith and husband Henry Wilburn Smith. Pallbearers were Harry Cook, Dan Smith, Wayne Parker, Jim Smith, Dennis Parker, Beacham Wray, and Bob Hilton. Bill Parker and Frank Highnote served as honorary pallbearers. Visitation was held one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Brantley United Methodist Church. Watson-Tante Funeral Home of Buena Vista, Georgia, was in charge of these arrangements.
