Funeral services will be held at 3:00pm on Tuesday, March 1, 2016, at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church with Rev. Raymond Smith, Rev. Brad Parker, and Rev. Jimmy Culpepper officiating. Burial will follow the service in the church cemetery with Rev. Daniel Whitt and Rev. David Chapman officiating. The family will greet friends at the church one hour prior to service time. Serving as active pallbearers will be Joe Phillips, Greg Palmer, Jay Pilcher, Mark Fox, Todd Jernigan, and Reuben Widner. Honorary pallbearers will be the Deacons of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church, Mac Walters, Roy Stewart, Ray Ridgeway, L. T. Curry, Ken Singleton, and Jack Simmons. Mrs. Parker was born March 10, 1944, to Tillman Jasper Pilcher, Sr. and Florrie Mae Howard Pilcher. Baptist by faith, she was a member of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church where she was the WMU President, church treasurer and a Sunday School teacher. She loved flowers and enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Wanda P. Jernigan, and by two brothers, Rainey Pilcher and Donnie Pilcher. She is survived by her husband, Mr. C. L. Parker of Buena Vista, by a son, Allen Parker of Jonesville, VA; a daughter, Angie and Daniel Hagan of Buena Vista, GA; by a brother, T. J. and Judy Pilcher Jr.; three sisters, Anita Taylor of Buena Vista, GA, Becky and Paul Durham of Waycross, GA, and Linah and Taylor Neighbors of Americus, GA; three grandchildren, Celeste Cribbs, Deana and C. J. Yarbrough, and Brian Hagan and eight great-grandchildren. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Mt. Carmel Baptist Church.
