Mima Mauk Pickard Peterson 

Buena Vista GA-Mima Mauk Pickard Peterson, 95, went to be with the Lord on 
January 18, 2012. She was born on March 30, 1916 in Buena Vista, GA. She was 
the youngest of three children born to Aldine Keifer Pickard and Edith McCrary 
Pickard. When Mima was 3, the family moved to Columbus, GA. Mima was preceded 
in death by her husband Lowell H. Peterson and her two brothers; Mac Pickard 
and Larry Pickard. She is survived by two daughters, Carole Look of Houston, 
TX, Jan Conant and husband Blaine of Chino Hills, CA; two granddaughters, 
Elizabeth Look Biar and husband Andrew and Jenna Conant. Also surviving are 
four great grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews. 
Mima was a loving mother who cared deeply for her family and friends. She was 
an active member of her church, First Baptist Church in Columbus. She was an 
avid bridge player and donated her time participating with Meals on Wheels and 
the Garden Club. She has been living in Chino Hills, CA with her daughter and 
her husband for the past two years. She will be remembered as a generous, 
gentle, and loving person who always made it a point to smile and brighten 
someone’s day. 
Funeral Services will be held on January 21, 2012 at 2:00pm at Watson-Tante 
Funeral Home in Buena Vista, GA. Dr. James Elder, Jr. will be officiating. For 
those so desiring, donations may be sent to The Audubon Society or The First 
Baptist Church of Columbus, P.O. Box 828, Columbus, GA 31902-0828.
