Brian Fuller and Rev. Lynn McManious officiating. Interment will follow in Moore's Chapel cemetery. Pallbearers will be Raymond Phillips, Randy Anthony, Jerry Anthony, Bill Matthews, Junior Fuller, Warren Teate, Matt Icard and Jon Skelly. Honorary pallbearers will be Barry Watson, Billy Phillips, Eric Fryer, Ed Bacon and Freeman Montgomery. . Mr. Phillips was born April 27, 1939 in Marion County, son of Alver Jessie and Lizzie Mae Phillips. He had resided in Talbot County for 40 years where he was a well known mechanic and friend to many people. He had a big heart and was a very giving and loving husband, father, Paw-Paw, uncle, brother and friend. He served in the U.S. Army and later owned his own business, "Leonard's Garage", in Talbotton, GA for many years. He was also a member of Moore's Chapel Baptist Church. Mr. Phillips was preceded in death by son, Leonard Morris Phillips; brothers, Hubert Phillips, Henry Phillips and Alver Jessie Phillips, Jr.; sister, Dorothy Wadsworth, parents, Alver Jessie and Lizzie Mae Phillips and precious granddaughter, Trinity Skelly. Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Glenda Faye Phillips; daughters, Lisa Skelly and her husband Jon of Mauk, GA., Christy Miller and her husband Joseph of Metairie, LA.; sisters, Bessie Anthony and Gracie Carden, both of Mauk, Vera Currington of Butler, GA.; three grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
