Funeral services will be held at Geneva Baptist Church on Monday, October 2, 2023 at 11:00AM with Rev. Bert Arnold officiating; Burial will follow at Moore’s Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Raymond Phillips, Carlton Phillips, Jerry Anthony, Jessie Anthony, Tracy Watson, and David Taylor. The family will greet friends at Way-Watson Funeral Home on Sunday evening from 3:00 – 5:00 PM. Mrs. Phillips was born February 19, 1945 in Ft. Benning, GA to Oliver Morris and Annie Lorena Stubbs Anthony. She was a member of Geneva Baptist Church and she loved attending as often as she could and singing while she was there. She enjoyed working with her flowers and spending time with her family and her dogs, Little Man and Little Bit. Mrs. Phillips was a homemaker and loved taking care of her family. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard Phillips, two siblings, Sherman Anthony and Shirley Whitley, an infant son, Leonard Morris Phillips, and a granddaughter, Trinity Skelly. Survivors include her two daughters, Lisa Skelly and her husband, Jon and Christy Rigby and her husband, Kevin; three grandchildren, Brittani Maddox (Brandon), Joann Miller and Michael Miller; four great-grandchildren, Baylie Maddox, Brantley Maddox, MacKenzie Gardner and Madison Gardner; a sister, Barbara Taylor; and several nieces and nephews.
