Poole, John Henry Sr.
Mr. Poole was born in Marion County, GA on May 29, 1922 to Ernest and Nargaree 
Carson Poole.  He was a member of Mt Olive Missionary Baptist Church, ordained 
deacon in 1960, Chairman of the Deacon Board.  He married Eunice Sales and 
they had 10 children, one (John Henry Poole Jr.) preceded him in death (May 
21, 1942 - June 7, 1993).  Mr. Poole retired from Marion Memorial Nursing Home 
in Buena Vista, GA after 18 years service.  He died Monday, January 16, 1995 
at the Medical Center in Columbus, GA.  Funeral services were held at 1:00 
p.m., Saturday, January 21, 1995 at Mt Olive Missionary Baptist Church in 
Tazewell, GA; Reverend Floyd Story, Jr. officiated.  Burial in Tazewell 
Memorial Cemetery.Pallbearers: Felton G Poole, James Cole, Frank Tymes, Arthur 
M Poole, Mack Elliott Poole and Kenneth Fletcher.  Survivors include his wife, 
children and their companions: Ms Elizabeth Poole of Atlanta, GA, Ms Betty 
Jean (Marcus) Sanders of Columbus, GA, Felton G (Ruby) Poole of Warrenton, GA, 
Ms Ernestine (James) Cole of Atlanta, GA, Mack Elliott Poole of Atlanta, GA, 
ArthurM Poole of Atlanta, GA, Ms Beverly Wilcher of Buena Vista and Gloridene 
Poole of Buena Vista, GA and Marvalene (Kenneth) Fletcher of Petersburg, VA, 
daughter-in-law, Ms Eleanor Poole of Union Dale, NY; 2 sisters and 3 brothers 
and their companions: Major (Catherine) Poole, Paul Poole, Phyllis (Harvey) 
Merritt all of Columbus, GA; Ms Hallie Ruth Poole of Boston, MA, Mr. James E 
(Mary) Poole of Atlanta, GA, sisters-in-law and brothers in law: Mary B Cole 
of New York, NY, Myra Flunory and Major Sales, of Brooklyn, NY, Agnes Johnson 
of Jamaica, NY, Helen Jordan of Virginia Beach, VA; 17 grandchildren and 4 
great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
