Watson - Tante Funeral Home Buena Vista Ga   Posted August 2012
Martha Johnson Powell, 72, of Box Springs, GA, died Saturday, August 11, 2012, 
at her residence.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 15, 2012, at 2:00 pm at 
Buena Vista First Baptist Church with Reverend Chris Hess and Reverend Rick 
Lipp officiating. Burial will follow the service at Union Cemetery. The family 
will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday evening from 6-8 pm.

Mrs. Powell was born May 12, 1940, to Louise Wilkes Johnson and the late Elvin 
G. Johnson. She was Baptist by faith and a member of Buena Vista First Baptist 
Church. She had been employed as a Sales Consultant and Realtor. She was a 
member of the American Board of Realtors, the Million Dollar Club and the 
Beautiful View Garden Club. 

In addition to her mother, Louise Wilkes Johnson, she is survived by her 
husband, Arthur Powell of Box Springs, GA; by 4 sons, Michael Britton Moon and 
wife Angela Lynn of Madison, GA, Kenneth Lamar Moon of Augusta, GA, Averett 
Payton Powell and wife Penny of Roberta, GA, and Adam Patrick Powell and wife 
Tina of Cherry Log, GA; 2 daughters Lynn Moon McAllister and husband Donald 
David of Buena Vista, GA, and Allison Paige Mock and husband Rick of Butler, 
GA; brothers Yancey Johnson and Ben Johnson and wife Ellie of Phenix City, AL, 
a sister, Regina Cain and husband George of Phenix City, AL. 10 Grandchildren, 
Sunni Lynn McAllister, Skyler David McAllister, Mike Alden Moon, Robert 
Nathaniel Moon, Alex Powell, Adam Icard, Chase Tyler, Cody Nichols, Mindy 
Powell, and Madison Powell also survive.

Watson-Tante Funeral Home of Buena Vista, Georgia, was in charge of these 
arrangements.
