Tante Funeral Home   December  2008
Weone F. Powell, 74, of Buena Vista, GA, died Tuesday, December 9, 2008 at 
Magnolia Manor of Marion County.

Graveside services were held at 2 p.m. on Friday, December 12, 2008, at Union 
United Methodist Church Cemetery with Reverend John Homer and Reverend Joel 
Fussell officiating.   The family received friends at Tante Funeral Home on 
Thursday evening. Serving as Pallbearers were Danny Minick, Joel Fussell, 
Shane Fussell, Maxwell Kelly, Mike Gunnels, and Robert Wells.

Mrs. Powell was born November 4, 1934 in the Centerpoint Community in Webster 
County, Georgia to Joe Terrell and Lelia Bell Fussell. She was a housewife and 
an Avon representative. She was a longtime member of Macedonia Baptist Church, 
and she attended Union UMC. She enjoyed visiting and talking to people and was 
a good grandmother. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by 
two sisters, Mary Frances Minick and Betty Jo Fussell.

She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Clements Powell, a son and 
daughter-in-law, Alton and Becky Powell; two daughters and sons-in-law, Leta 
and Randy Welch and Nenia and Edmond Bassett, all of Buena Vista; One brother, 
Joe and Sara Fussell of the Centerpoint Community; two sisters, Jessie and the 
late Julian R. Gunnels of Columbus, and Marcia and Billy Meeks of Ellaville; 
five grandchildren, Mitch and Samantha Welch, Jason Bassett, Matthew Welch, 
Clint Powell, and Kinsey Powell; and one great grandchild, Talan Welch, also 
survive.

Tante Funeral Home in Buena Vista, Georgia, was in charge of arrangements.
