Billy Mack Powell
October 29, 1941 - January 19, 2022

Mr. Billy Mack Powell, 80, of Buena Vista, GA, passed away on Wednesday, January 
19, 2022, at Phoebe-Sumter Medical Center in Americus, GA. A graveside funeral 
service will be held at 1:30PM on Sunday, January 23, 2022, at Union United 
Methodist Church Cemetery with Rev. David Chapman officiating.

A native of Marion County, GA, Mr. Powell was born October 29, 1941, to Willie 
Cecil “Bill” and Eula Francis Wells Powell. Methodist by faith, he was a member 
of Union United Methodist Church. Mr. Powell was a Lieutenant with the Georgia 
State Patrol prior to his retirement. He enjoyed being a trooper and meeting 
people. Mr. Powell loved spending time with his family. In addition to his 
parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Frank Powell.

He is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Beth and John Adams; by two 
brothers, Clyde Powell and Buddy Powell, and two sisters, Beverly Barrett and 
Mary Jane Hendricks; by two grandchildren, Ashley Smith Saint (Adam) and John 
Adams, IV (Kaitlyn); and three great-grandchildren, Kate Saint, Kylee Saint, and 
Asher Adams.

Way-Watson Funeral Home, 1052 Dr. Deryl Hart Road, Buena Vista, Georgia has been 
entrusted with these arrangements.
