Nadine Quarterman, 90, of Buena Vista, GA, died Tuesday, January 7, 2014, at The 
Medical Center in Columbus, GA.

Graveside funeral services will be held at 2:00PM on Sunday, January 12, 2014, 
at Buena Vista Cemetery with Reverend David Chapman officiating.

Ms. Quarterman was born December 13, 1923, in Marion County, GA, to Archie 
Preston and Annie Belle Tyler Phillips, Sr. She was Baptist by faith. She 
graduated from Buena Vista High School and attended nursing school in Columbus. 
After marriage, she moved to Indiana for a short while before returning home to 
Marion County. She was employed at Marion County Hospital as the Director of 
Nursing.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, 
Jim Quarterman, Sr., her son, James Quarterman, Jr., a brother, Herbert 
Phillips, and three sisters, Archie Foster, Imogene Bray, and Louise Blyth.

She is survived by two brothers and sisters-in-law, Preston and Faye Phillips of 
Birmingham, AL, and Mack and Helga Phillips of Apopka, FL; and by two sisters 
and a brother-in-law, Voncile P. French of Buena Vista, GA, and Sybil and Jimmy 
Roberts of Cape Coral, FL.

Watson-Tante Funeral Home is in charge of these arrangements.
