Ruby Lee Rogers, age 92, of Buena Vista, died Friday, February 18, 2011, at 
her residence.

Funeral services were held on Monday, February 21, 2011, at 2:00 PM in the 
Chapel of Tante Funeral Home with Reverend Luke Forsyth officiating.  Burial 
followed in Mauk Cemetery. The family received friends at the funeral home on 
Sunday afternoon from 3-5 PM. Serving as pallbearers were Ricky Rogers, Ray 
Rogers, Shannon Rogers, Ken Whitley, Keith Ethridge, and James Brooks.

Mrs. Rogers was born April 2, 1918, in Cottondail, Florida, to Hazzie and 
Annie Carnley Barfield.  She was a member of Lakeview Full Gospel Church and 
had enjoyed her rose garden. She came to Marion County from Chicago, Illinois 
in 1958, with her husband and was employed for many years by Dent Poultry. In 
addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Early 
Rogers, a daughter, Azzie Lee “Midge” Whitley, a grandson, Earnest Lee 
Mitchell, Jr. and by two brothers, Earnest Barfield and Hozie Lee Barfield.

She is survived by a daughter, Lillie Patricia Ann Mitchell of Buena Vista, 
GA; a son, Roy Rogers of Anniston, AL; Six grandchildren, Ricky Rogers, Ray 
Rogers, Shannon Rogers, Michelle Folds, Daniel Mitchell and Elizabeth Stubbs, 
and 10 great-grandchildren. 

Tante Funeral Home of Buena Vista was in charge of arrangements.
