Obituary
Mrs. Sarah Leona Anthony Rogers, 84, passed away on Friday, November 15, 2019 
at Columbus Hospice House.  Graveside services will be held on Sunday, 
November 17, 2019 at 3:00 PM at Brown Springs Church of God Cemetery, 6245 GA 
Hwy 355, Box Springs, GA with Rev. Sanford Colquitt officiating. Pallbearers 
will be Greg Hudson, Joey Robinson, Ryan Matlock, Matthew Robinson, Will 
Robinson, and Matt Gunnels.  The family will greet friends at the funeral home 
on Saturday, November 16, 2019 from 6:00 – 8:00 PM.

Mrs. Rogers was born January 31, 1935 in Marion County, GA to the late Bascom 
and Hattie Phillips Anthony.  She attended Brown Springs Church of God.  Mrs. 
Rogers retired from Swift Textiles as a trainer, after 35 years.  She loved 
spending time with her family, especially her children and grandchildren. Mrs. 
Rogers enjoyed all flowers, and loved to shop and travel.  She will be dearly 
missed by everyone.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by 
her husband, Lester Rogers, two daughters, Patsy Hudson and Carol Matlock, a 
grandson, Jeremy Robinson, a brother, James Anthony, and three sisters 
Elizabeth Rogers, Mary Bloodsworth and Vivian Rogers.

Survivors include her daughter, Barbara Robinson and her husband, Jackie of 
Box Springs, GA; a son, Melvin Rogers and his wife, Diane of Columbus, GA and 
sons-in-law, Mark Hudson of Box Springs, GA and Steve Matlock of Box Springs; 
eight grandchildren, Joey (Lora) Robinson, Courtney (Matt) Gunnels, Deanna 
(Phillip) Robinson, Lisa (Mason) Prewett, Ryan Matlock, Shauna (Jimmy) 
Griffith, Greg (April) Hudson, Tori (Kristian) Martinez; a granddaughter-in-
law, Shana Robinson; eleven great-grandchildren, Matthew, Will, Cadence, Knox, 
Maylee, Sonni, Sawyer, Libby, Jackson, Rylee and Jayden; and several nieces 
and nephews, and other family also survive.
