Rogers, Sr. Dead The spirit of Mrs. T.L. Rogers, Sr. passed away last Saturday evening just as the light of day was extinguished, and her immortal spirit returned to the God who gave it. She had been in bad health for some time and her death was not unexpected. She said a short while before her death that she was ready and was only awaiting the call of the Master. Her remains were laid to rest in the Methodist cemetery Sunday afternoon. The funeral services were held in the church and a large number of the relatives and friends of the deceased were present to do honor to the departed. The funeral sermon was preached by Rev. R.L. Wiggins in a solemn and impressive manner. Mrs. Rogers was a member of the Methodist church and she lived a consecrated Christian life, leaving a rich legacy in good example not only to the surviving family but the community. She leaves a husband and a large number of children, grandchildren and one great grandchild to mourn her death. She left only one brother and one sister, Mr. Jim McMichael, of Lumpkin and Mrs. Stevens of Putnam. The funeral was delayed until after train time Sunday afternoon expecting her brother and sister to arrive but they did not come. The Patriot joins a host of friends of the family in expressing sympathy in the hour of their great sorrow.
