Barbara James Lancaster Rush, 74, of Montgomery, Alabama, died Saturday, 
December 5, 2009, at Prattville Baptist Hospital in Prattville, Alabama.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 9, 2009, at 2:00pm in the 
Chapel of Tante Funeral Home with Reverend Jim Rush officiating. Burial will 
follow in Brantley Cemetery in Marion County. Serving as pallbearers will be 
Michael Harris, Bland Brooks, Jacob Brooks, Rusty Griner, David Dennis, and 
Jim Rush. The family will receive friends from 12:30 until the time of the 
service on Wednesday at the funeral home.  

Mrs. Rush was born December 23, 1934, in Miami, Florida, to James Lupo and 
Flossie Phillips Lancaster. She was Baptist by faith and was a devoted wife, 
mother and friend. Barbara and her husband Benny were married for 52 years and 
had lived in several locations. She worked for the federal government with the 
Department of Defense and the Social Security Office. Since retiring, she and 
her husband had been living in Montogomery, AL, for the past 23 years.  She 
was preceded in death by her parents.

Survivors include her husband, Benny Rush of Montogomery, AL; a daughter, 
Cynthia Rush Harris of Montogomery, AL; a son, Ronald Dean Rush & wife Debbie 
of Crestview, FL; and three grandchildren, Katherine Tyler Harris, Michael 
Allen Harris, and Benjamin Daniel Rush.

Tante Funeral Home of Buena Vista, Georgia, is in charge of arrangements. In 
lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Brantley Methodist Church.
