Spinks Dead Mr. W.B. Spinks died very suddenly at his home near Brantley, in this county, last Saturday morning of heart disease. He and his young son were out in the field hoeing, and it seems they were racing to see which could make the end of the row first, when he suddenly stopped and placed his right hand under his left arm and remarked to his boy that he had a severe pain there. The young men told him that he had better go to the house and he started but did not go far before he fell. Other members of the family came and carried him to the house and while they were on they way he told them he was going to die and asked that they put him down that he might walk a few more steps ere he crossed over the river of death. They did his bidding but he made only a few steps before he sank again. He was carried to the house and placed on a bed but he died a few minutes afterwards. Mr. Spinks was about seventy-nine years old and was a man who had always led an exemplary life, loved and honored by all who knew him. The Patriot sympathizes with the relatives of the deceased in this their sad hour.
