Singleton, died Monday morning at half past 8 o’clock, after an illness of several weeks with fever. She sat up in bed a short while before her death and took nourishment and remarked that she felt better than she had felt in two weeks, and a very short time after this she peacefully passed away. While she had had fever for some time the fever had left her and the immediate cause of her death was heart failure. Mrs. Singleton was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W.D. Lumpkin and she had many relatives in the northern part of the county. She leaves a husband and seven children to mourn her untimely death. She was united with the Methodist church in her girlhood and had lived the life of a consistent Christian. She was thirty-three years of age. The funeral services were conducted in a beautiful and impressive manner by Rev. Geo. G.N. MacDonnell, of Columbus, at the Methodist church at 11 o’clock Tuesday morning; and a large number of relatives and friends were there to pay the last sad rites to the deceased. In the loss of wife and mother Mr. Singleton and children have the sympathy of our people.
