Jesse Smith, a negro, was shot Saturday night by another negro named Will 
James.  The shooting took place at a frolic at a private house on the 
plantation of Mr. Joe Cranford, near Draneville, and Smith died from the 
effects of the wound on Monday. The trouble seems to have been about some woman.
