The Marion County Patriot, No. 10 Friday, March 22, 1907 Page Six In Memory of Little Mira We thank the people for the kindness shown us during the sickness and burial of our little girl, Mira. She was born Feb. 21st, 1902 and died Jan. 3rd, 1907, lacking 1 month and 18 days of being 5 years of age. She was taken sick about 5 o'clock in the morning and immediately Drs. S.A. Murray, of Tazewell and J.A. Weaver, of Buena Vista, were called to her bedside, where they did all in their power to stay the hand of affliction; but the deadly disease continued until about 6 o'clock in the evening, when the Lord, who gave her to us, saw fit to send the angel of death to the home that her presence had made so bright and take from us our darling child. I stood by the bedside of the only sweet child we had, and saw her draw up her little form in death, and dear reader, I would like to say, those who have never had this trial, can only imagine the sad feeling we had to undergo when we stood by and saw death seal the lips we loved so well. Oh! It was a time that shall ever be fresh in our memory and her sweet little face will never be forgotten by us. Although her form has passed away, Remembrance of her shall with us stay. It seems more than we can hardly bear, yet God has said that he will never put more on his people than they can bear; we also know he says "suffer little children to come unto me, for of such is the kingdom of Heaven." This gives us a blessed thought. 'Tis hard to break the tender cord where love has bound the heart; 'Tis hard, so hard to speak the words, we must forever part. Yet again we hope to meet thee, When the day of life is fled; Then in Heaven with joy to greet thee, Where no farewell tears are shed. With love for our little girl, we remain, Wm. and Minnie Stewart File at: http://files.usgwarchives.net/ga/marion/obits/s/ob6512stewart.txt This file has been created by a form at http://www.poppet.org/gafiles/ File size: 0.9 Kb
