Family Funeral Program
MAJOR SALES
Mr. Sales was born July 13, 1892 in Macon County, GA and was married to Mary 
Eunice Porter.  They had 8 children. Upon the death of his wife, he married 
Johnnie Shelling.  He was a member of Mt Olive Baptist Church, served as a 
Deacon.
Mr. Sales died in 1981.   Funeral services were held at 12 noon, Sunday, April 
5, 1981 at Mt Olive Baptist Church in Tazewell, Marion County, GA; Pastor, 
Reverend W Campbell officiated.  Burial in Mt Olive Baptist Church Cemetery  
Grandsons served as pallbearers.   
Survivors include his children: Mrs. Myra Sales, Mrs. Mary Cheek, Mr. Major 
Sales, Mrs. Agnes Johnson, Mrs. Helen Jordon of New York, Mr. Grady Sales of 
Philadelphia, PA, Mrs. Eunice Poole of Buena Vista, GA; 3 brothers: Mr. Lewis 
Sales, Mr. William Sales and Daniel Sales of New York; 4 sisters, Ms. Ida 
Johnson, Ms. Mary Sykes, Ms Emma Johnan of Hartford, CT and Ms Maywill Denson 
of New York; 36 grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.
