SALES, MATTHEW Sr.
Mr. Sales was born April 29, 1921 to Mr. & Mrs. Jasper Sales of Buena Vista, 
Marion County, GA.  He married Johnnie Mae Swan and they had 4 daughters and 
seven sons.  He died at 2:45 p.m. Friday, February 28, 1986 at Marion Memorial 
Hospital in Buena Vista, GA.  Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m., 
Thursday, March 6, 1986 at Tazewell Cemetery, Marion County, GA.  Reverend 
Floyd Story officiated  Burial in Tazewell Cemetery.  Granddaughters and 
friends served as pallbearers.
Survivors include his wife of 46 years, 4 daughters, Shelly Burt, Mary Barney, 
Christine Sals, all of East Orange, NJ and Evelyn Gilbert of Macon, GA; 7 
sons, Matthew Sales, Jr., James Sales and Robert L Sales, all of New Jersey, 
Major Sales, Walter Sales, Murit L Sales, Sr., and Nathan Sales, all of Buena 
Vista, GA; 3 sisters, Magie W Maddox of Chicago, IL, Sally L Dunning of macon, 
GA, Rose B Jackson of Miami, FL, 3 brothers, Joseph Sales, Sr., Ray Sales of 
Buena Vista, GA na dBenny sales of Atlanta, GA. One uncle, Murit sales of 
Buena Vista, GA and two aunts, Della Sales of Buena Vista, GA and Lucy Sales 
of Brooklyn, NY; sons-in-law, Kenneth Burt, Jimmy Barney, Milton L Gilbert, 
daughters-in-law, Clara Sales, Janice Sales, Colency Sales, Dorothy Sales, 
Marie Sales, Patricia Sales, brothers-in-law, Elder L C Dunning, Sr., David 
Maddox, Jack Johnson, sisters-in-law, Nellie Grace Sales, Justin Sales, Annie 
Sales, 21 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, nieces, nephews.
