SAMPSON, WILLIE MARIE  SLAUGHTER
Mrs. Sampson was born 1907 in Marion County, GA to Tim and Hannah Rushin 
Slaughter, one of eleven children.She first joined St Mark Baptist Church, 
later joined Mt Zion Primitive Baptist Church.  She wed Mr. Jimmie Sampson in 
May 1925. She died Tusday, October 7, 1980 at St Francis Hospital in Columbus, 
Muscogee County, GA after a brief illness.  Funeral services for Mrs. “Kid” 
Sampson was held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, October 12, 1980 at Mt Zion-Putnam 
Primitive Baptist Church in Buena Vista, GA.;  Elder M C Harris officiated. 
Burial in Mt Zion-Putnam Primitive Baptist Church cemetery  She is survived by 
her husband, a son, Mr. Grady Sampson, both of Buena Vista, a daughter, Mrs. 
Paralee Terry of Wilmington, De; 4 grandchildren, a daughter-in-law, Mrs. 
Alice Sampson of Buena Vista, GA. A son-in-law, Mr. Willie Terry of 
Wilmington, DE, four sisters: Mrs. Fannie Williams, Mrs. Bloomie Lee, Mrs. 
Katie McCrary and Mrs. Hannah Randolph, all of Brooklyn, NY; 5 brothers, Mr. 
John Slaughter and Mr. Melton Slaughter of Buena Vista, GA, Mr. Seble 
Slaughter and Mr. Rufus Slaughter of Miami, FL and Mr. Ulysses Slaughter of 
Brooklyn, NY; 5 sisters-in-law, 2 brothers-in-law.
