Ruth (Googe) Sanes
May 30, 1939 ~ October 20, 2019 (age 80)

Mrs. Ruth Googe Sanes, 80, of Mauk, GA, passed away on Sunday, October 20, 
2019, at her residence. Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm on Wednesday, 
October 23, 2019, at Oakland Church of God with Rev. Mike Sanes officiating. 
Burial will follow the service at Oakland Church of God Cemetery. The family 
will greet friends at Watson-Tante Funeral Home, 1052 Dr. Deryl Hart Road, 
Buena Vista, GA, on Tuesday, October 22, 2019, from 6:00-8:00pm. Serving as 
pallbearers will be Ramey Butler, Larry Googe, Dustin Thorne, Asa Sanes, Todd 
Gay, and Andrew Sanes.

Mrs. Sanes was born on May 30, 1939, in Appling County, GA, to Jerry O’Neal 
and Alma Oberry Googe. She was a member of Oakland Church of God. Mrs. Sanes 
had previously been employed with Georgia Power and West Point Pepperell. She 
was an excellent seamstress and often made suits for her husband. She was 
preceded in death by her parents and several siblings.

She is survived by her husband of 57 years, John D. Sanes of Mauk, GA; by a 
son, Rev. Michael D. and Kelly Sanes of Kingsland, GA; two daughters, Pamela 
and Ramey Butler of Harris county, GA, and Kathryn Sanes of Mauk, GA; two 
brothers, Thomas and Mary Googe and Ralph and Dyane Googe; two sisters, Robbie 
and Jack Williams and Carolyn and Larry Googe; by nine grandchildren, Adam D. 
Sanes, Karlee D. Gay, Asa J. Sanes, Andrew M. Sanes, and Kolby G. Williams, 
Drew Reynolds, Beth Neeley, Annah Preston, and Rhett Butler; and thirteen 
great-grandchildren. Many nieces, nephews, uncles and aunts also survive.

Watson-Tante Funeral Home is in charge of these arrangements.
